205 -The Ballina Hill

We all have those places - that favourite spot where no matter the weather it is always beautiful, has memories ... you know.

For me this is the spot where if I could, I'd buy all the property you see just so I could sit at the top of the hill and feel ahhhhhhhhhhh relaxed.

I've 'driven' thru this area so many times since my first road visit to Queensland back in 1975 and it always takes my breath away. I always think I must stop to take some photos and this time I could because there was just me in the car at the weekend.

Unfortunately it was overcast and late in the afternoon so it is rather grainy where I had to do some improving of the colours so the scene looks what it usually looks like.

The location isn't really Ballina - that is just what I have always called it. It is actually McLeods Shoot - overlooking the Pacific Ocean - Byron Bay is in the distance on the right hand side. This 8 stitch photo was taken from Coolamon Scenic Dr - see google maps - type in McLeods Shoot NSW and you will find it.
