220 - Winter in Queensland

My Winter entry for the seasons competition [link]

I decided to portray my entries with typical views of the seasons.

Winter in South East Queensland is the dry season. Most days are mild, with cool to cold nights. A sunny winter's day finds the skies usually quite blue, with rarely a cloud in sight. The farmlands in the driest parts turn to a shade of straw. Only the areas nearest the coast which still get the odd shower will be green.

This shot was taken in the Mt Barney region, with Mt Lindsay in the distance.
